Kal-El was an infant sent to Earth by his parents, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, before the destruction of their home planet Krypton. Kal-El's capsule landed near Smallville, Kansas, where Jonathan Kent and Martha Kent found him and subsequently took a liking to both of them. The Kents adopted the young Kryptonian, naming him "Clark" after Martha's maiden name. He's mild-mannered, friendly, agreeable, and has a big heart. He uses his powers to protect people whenever possible. Clark is an outright good Samaritan; he sees the world's dangers as temporary and thus the various problems that occur as things to be fixed when trouble arises.
