Sanderson Hawkins is used to be the sidekick of Wesley Dodds (the original Sandman) and a former member of the Justice Society of America. Sanderson was turned into a sand monster by his mentor's failed experiment called the "silocoid gun", he was kept into the chamber for many decades while Wesley Dodds tried so hard to create and/or find a cure. When he did find the cure with the help of the Justice League after so long. Sandy Hawkins is changed back into himself again, he may look like he is the same age like he was before he turned into a monster and gain new sand controlling powers. When Wesley passed away, Sandy changed his codename to Sandman in honor to remember his mentor’s legacy.
