Dinah Laurel Lance is the second Black Canary. Her mother, Dinah Drake Lance, was the first. Dinah was trained by Wildcat (a former member of the Justice Society), an old friend of her mother. Despite her mother's opposition, Dinah took up the Black Canary mantle, operating out of Gotham City with a day job at the family florist business and as a professional therapist. Black Canary is confident, clearheaded, and has a great deal of patience. She is not one to mince words but instead likes to get to the point. She believes that injuries and setbacks come with the job of being a hero.
