Much like in the Ben 10 reboot, Vilgax was co-creator of the Omnitrix alongside his sister Myaxx and their adoptive father Azmuth, who raised the two after their parents were killed in an invasion of the Chimera Sui Generis homeworld by the Highbreed. While Azmuth created the Omnitrix to collect data and unite the many species of the universe, Vilgax believed that he could use it to save his people and stop the Highbreed, so he stole it with help from Azmuth’s treacherous brother Albedo. However, the watch’s unlimited potential corrupted his mind, and Vilgax eventually abandoned his original goal in favor of using it to build an army to conquer the universe.
