The plot revolves around a recently deceased couple, Barbara and Adam Maitland, who become ghosts haunting their former home, and an obnoxious, devious poltergeist named Betelgeuse (pronounced Beetlejuice) who tries to help scare away the new inhabitants of the Maitland home.read more
