Fan Casting Detective James Gordon in Darren Aronofsky's Batman: Year One

A newly transferred cop from Chicago, exhausted and morally compromised, he finds himself trapped in Gotham's corrupt police department. He refuses bribes, gets beaten by his colleagues, and nearly commits suicide before learning his wife is pregnant. He becomes the reluctant public face of justice, working alongside the Batman while hunting him. He is the film's true protagonist: a tired, stubborn, decent man fighting a system that wants him broken or dead.
