Fan Casting Nightwing(Richard "Dick" Grayson)

Role added by jorgeemiliodeleonsilva on October 28, 2021

Description of Nightwing (Richard "Dick" Grayson):

Out of all the main characters, he’s the one who is closest to Jason, both prior to and during the events of the movie. Despite his tumultuous relationship with Bruce, he is still willing to lend a helping hand. He is traumatized, raped, and abused by Catalina Flores only to be rescued by Shawn Tsang, and avenged by Red Hood. Raising his newborn daughter, whom he names Elainna Catherine Jane Grayson, with Shawn, he is one of the only characters Jason doesn’t actively attack, and the one who ultimately ends the Joker’s reign of terror.

  • dafilmqueen So before we start, yes, I’m aware that making him a major character in this is a canon breaking change, especially since it is a full length movie and not a television show. That said, Batman does almost very little, and I would love to see what a Red Hood movie from his and Nightwing’s perspective would look like. It also feels more fitting for him to comfort Red Hood, especially since long time comic fans know that he actually tried and killed the Joker once, before Batman resurrected the vile creature in a Lazarus Pit (hate the Bat now. Not only did he refuse to kill the Joker, he refused to even let him stay dead). It would be poetic (for Red Hood at least) if the brother he comforted and tried to keep out of his plan ended up being the one who ended his nightmare’s life, and Jason is a theater literature nerd at heart, he can appreciate some poetic irony..
