Bruce Wayne gave up the mantle of Batman after the death of Dick Grayson ten years earlier. Crime is running rampant throughout the city and a gang calling themselves "The Mutants" has begun terrorizing the people of Gotham. Wayne returns to his role as a vigilante after the events of Batman V. Superman and Zack Snyder's Justice League, but is challenged by the Gotham City police and the US government.
