Batman - Season 2

Gotham has survived its first year with Batman, but the city has not changed. Crime has simply learned to hide behind tailored suits, political influence, and old money. At the center of it all stands Carmine Falcone, the Roman, whose criminal empire controls Gotham from the shadows. When a member of the Falcone family is brutally murdered on Halloween, Batman, Detective James Gordon, and District Attorney Harvey Dent form an uneasy alliance to bring down the mob once and for all. But their investigation takes a darker turn when another member of the underworld is killed on Thanksgiving, then another on Christmas. Each murder follows the same ritual. Each occurs on a holiday. And each leaves behind a cryptic calling card. The press names the killer “Holiday.” As Batman races against the calendar, Gotham descends into a violent gang war between the Falcones and the Maronis. Meanwhile, the city’s growing population of costumed criminals begins to emerge from the shadows, including the Joker, Poison Ivy, the Scarecrow, the Riddler and the Calendar Man. Every suspect has a motive, and every clue seems designed to point toward someone else. But the greatest threat may be closer to Batman than anyone realizes. As Harvey Dent becomes increasingly consumed by his obsession with justice, the line between law and vengeance begins to disappear. His marriage, his morality, and ultimately his identity begin to fracture. Over the course of one long year, Batman must solve the mystery of Holiday before Gotham’s war destroys everyone he has sworn to protect — and before his closest ally becomes his most terrifying enemy.
