A sociopath and psychiatrist obsessed with the study of fear in the human brain. As a child, Crane was beaten by his abusive father who worked at Ace Chemicals and was bullied at school. Crane's father dressed up as a scarecrow to terrorize him, causing his obsession. He has degrees in chemistry and psychiatry and has created the fear gas that he plans to use to poison Gotham.
