Synopsis

The Joker escapes from Arkham Asylum with the help of Dr. Harleen Quinzel. Dick is severely beaten by the Joker and Barbara is shot. Batman nearly kills the Joker, but relents and takes him to Blackgate. Barbara becomes Oracle and Dick withdraws from super heroism while he recovers. Barbara mentions Green Arrow and Star City. On the scene post credit, Nightwing and Oracle seek members of future group Teen Titans.

Description of Batgirl (Barbara Gordon):

Barbara Gordon was the first modern age Batgirl until she was brutally shot by the Joker, rendering her paralyzed from the waist down. Barbara reinvented herself as Oracle, providing intelligence to the DCU heroes and leading the Birds of Prey. She has recently become Batgirl once again to protect Gotham City.
