Synopsis

Jason shows up in a Batman outfit and kills people and shoots Damian. Tim takes up the cowl to track down Jason but Jason beats him. Dick ends up having to fight Jason and at the end realizes that Gotham/the world needs a Batman and its his duty to take up the cowl, even if he doesn't want to. The story begins months after Final Crisis with hundreds of criminals in Gotham attempting to rise due to the absence of Batman. Two-Face and the Penguin are leading a mob war while, unbeknownst to them, a third candidate arrives into the battle, Black Mask.

Description of Batman (Dick Grayson nightwing The New Batman ):

After Jason Todd takes up the mantle himself, it is revealed that Bruce told Dick not to become Batman as he believed that Dick could carry the torch as Nightwing. After a long fought battle with Jason, Dick decides that enough is enough and with Damian Wayne as Robin, Dick becomes Batman. Following the events of Batman's apparent death during the Final Crisis, Nightwing closes down shop in New York City to return to Gotham, where – after the events of "Battle for the Cowl" – he, initially reluctant, assumes the identity of Batman and finds a new Robin in Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne's biological son.
