Jack Sharp lived a great life, he was engaged to Karen. He was a high-ranking sports manager with a high salary. He also has Rich (friend), and Otis (colleague). Once he did not estimate situation on a street and was shot. Now you probably think that's the end of the story, don't you? But that's just the beginning! He wakes up, not in hospital or in Heaven, but in a hibernation cell connected to virtual reality. The world in VR was created for him and with people whom he knows in reality, but the world he woke up to is completely different from the VR where he lived. Rich is his friend, but he isn't CEO of his company, but a bartender. Otis isn't a colleague and neither of them works as a sports manager, Otis is a motorcycle builder. Jack tries to find out who he is and where Karen is. He knows nothing, but the memories come back, he doesn't want to accept the life so far has been a lie. He discovered that he is a war veteran, now a bartender at Rich's, and went into VR to take a break from world and war memories. He talks to Rich, Otis about the VR world and them in VR. Next day he meets his VR boss, but he is homeless in this world. Suddenly Karen comes out, but she is completely different, she is married to Ben (swimming pool cleaner in VR), has a daughter, Karen doesn't know Jack.
