Jean-Paul Valley, a brilliant but psychologically fragile vigilante, inherits the mantle of Azrael from the ancient Order of St. Dumas. Trained since childhood to be a holy assassin, he becomes the Order’s living weapon in a war against the criminals and conspiracies hidden beneath Gotham City. As his faith and fractured mind are pushed to their limits, Jean-Paul must decide whether he is a servant of divine justice, or simply a man programmed to kill.
