Astrid is a kind and friendly teenage orphan who dreams of becoming a ballerina like her late mother. One day, after her late mother gave her a pair of rainbow ballet slippers as a birthday present, she put them on. When she tries on a pair of sparkly rainbow shoes, she and her best friends, Emma furi and Sophia Perez, are whisked away to a fantasy world of ballet. There, Astrid discovers that she must dance in her favorite ballets to defeat her evil rival tracie and her evil rich mother.
