After being contained inside a special room in the Justice League's headquarters in space for months before being transported to Arkham Asylum, Clark Kent, formerly Superman, must adjust to the living conditions that Gotham's famous prison offers, as he is forced to wear a cuff around his neck that essentially makes him powerless so he can't spiral out of control in his grief over the death of Lois Lane. While he is in the Asylum, Kal-El watches the other inmates suffer at the hands of the many doctors that conduct experiments on them behind the scenes, most notably Hugo Strange. This is something that makes him hate Bruce Wayne even more than he already does, as he should be monitoring this kind of activity, rather than ignoring it in Clark's eyes.
