Clover is a kind, caring mare. She cares for anyone, especially Boxer, who she loves. Unfortunately, she won't be able to care for Boxer if Napoleon sells him. And with Napoleon in control of the farm, Clover may not have anyone to care for much longer. She'll have to hope for the best, like Boxer being able to escape. Clover would give anything to have peace and justice on the farm, even if it means having to fight Napoleon for it.
