Otto Octavius was a brilliant scientist working for Oscorp Industries under Norman Osborn. He also secretly acted as an industrial spy for Justin Hammer, an Osborn rival. He was involved in the same laboratory accident that caused Norman Osborn to develop retroviral hyperplasia. During the incident, a radiation blast fused the four mechanical arms he used to remotely manipulate hazardous materials to his skin. Currently, Otto Octavius, now Doctor Octopus, is a member of the Sinister Six.
