First Appearance: Rose. For the 2005 revival, it was a clear a fresh take the companion role suited for the modern day would be appropriate. Rose Tyler was designed to be an audience surrogate, embodying an ordinary girl living in contemporary New York City. She would travel with the Doctor for two seasons, both Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Ninth Doctor, and Sam Rockwell's Tenth Doctor. She would eventually get trapped in an alternate universe but would return throughout series 3, with a cameo in The End of Time: Part Two, and an appearance in Day of the Doctor as a different character.
