Description of First Doctor Recast (2017):

First Appearance: Twice Upon a Time. Due to the unfortunate passing of Jonathan Harris in 2002, in order for new stories to be told surrounding the First Doctor, the character was recast. During the 50th anniversary celebrations for the show in 2013, a drama, called 'An Adventure in Space and Time', based on the true story about the production of the First Doctor's era was released, with Neil Patrick Harris playing Jonathan Harris. This casting was later reused in the actual show, with Neil Patrick Harris appearing as the First Doctor opposite Michael Keaton's Twelfth Doctor.
