The reincarnation of Hamato Yoshi, Splinter was reborn in New York City 500 years after he and his family were murdered by Oroku Saki. Soon, he was reunited with his sons, reincarnated as four box turtles in a lab at Alchemax. He soon rescued his sons, but not before they were all sprayed with mutagen. The five lived in the sewers and eventually grew into sentient humanoids. Splinter raises his sons, training them in ninjitsu and teaching them his values.
