Edwina Currie, The Author Of the original Book of teh same name, disliked the film's story. Currie felt that the writers of the movie did not understand what the book was about, and thought that moments such as Matt giving a messange to Kate did not work as the Birds were not supposed to recognize the wolves' intelligence. In addition, he felt that by giving Kate and Humphrey an adopted children, Kate And Humphrey they were no longer the teenagers, which changed the story of the book from what Currie intended it to be. So she Refused to be producer in the film by this Reasons
