Katniss also stole attention during these Games when she volunteered for her younger sister. In the interviews her District partner declared his love for her. Katniss evaded the Careers over the first week, allied with the District 11 female tribute and was responsible for the deaths of 3 Careers. After nursing her District partner back to health they had a confrontation with the District 2 male at the Cornucopia, which they won. After this the pair threatened to commit double suicide to the Gamemakers but were allowed to both live and be equal victors. As of 75 AR Katniss is still alive age 17.
