Nearchus was of Alexanders's companions. He played a key role during the travel back to home, as commander of the fleet that had to descent the Indus river to search a way to arrive in Babylon, through the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf. After Alexander's death he joined Antigonus as a lower rank general.
