Parmenio or Parmenio or Parmenion was a Macedonian general who served under kings Philip II and Alexander the Great, and he fought with the latter during the conquest of the Achaemenid Empire. He ended up being murdered by Alexander on Persian soil for reasons ranging from mutiny and betrayal to abandonment of the cause
