The Navigator is the protagonist of Alchemy Stars. He is the last remaining Caelestite, who was trapped inside the Colossus, Soroz, for the last seventeen years—ever since the Darkover Crisis. After encountering Vice, he was able to successfully boot up Soroz with her help, and was finally able to escape. As a Caelestite, Navigator is unable to use Luminatics, but he is able to see the Light Trail—and through using his psychic abilities, enables Aurorians to see it as well. With this, he is able to aid the Aurorians around him in combat, even though he cannot participate himself.
