Fan Casting Margaret Pole in A Tudor Tale: Henry VIII

Margaret Plantagenet, Countess of Salisbury, also called Margaret Pole as a result of her marriage to Sir Richard Pole, was the only surviving daughter of George Plantagenet by his wife Isabel Neville. She was appointed as a lady in waiting to Catherine of Aragon in 1509. As one of the few members of the House of Plantagenet to have survived the Wars of the Roses, she was executed in 1541 at the command of King Henry VIII. Her son, Reginald Pole, said that he would "never fear to call himself the son of a martyr".
