Description of Sydney Carton:
An English lawyer and attorney. His drinking addiction makes him live a life of misery, but he adores Lucie and still wants to bring happiness to her and her family, even though he will never be able to have her. He was also known to have a striking resemblance to his counterpart Darnay, and it was from his resemblance that he saved Darnay and his family by switching places with him while awaiting execution. Carton lived a hopeless life but redeemed himself by leaving behind his past sins and forever living on in the memories of Charles and Lucie.
