Synopsis

Against the backdrop of Ancient Greece, four lovers find themselves caught up in an incredible series of fluctuating attractions and disastrous misunderstandings as the fairy King Oberon wages war on his independent wife Titania. Meanwhile, six simple-minded workingmen set their hearts on performing a devastating tragedy for the Duke and Duchess' wedding; however, it is not long before they, too, become pawns in the hilarious antics of the fairies.

Description of Nick Bottom:

While Peter Quince may be considered the wisest and most practical of the workingmen, Nick Bottom has come to represent youth and excitement for the simpleminded fellows. Often bubbling with enthusiastic new ideas for the play, Bottom often gets so ahead of himself that he ends up wanting to act as all the characters! When caught up in the mischievous magic of Puck, unknowingly receiving the head of a donkey, he awakens Queen Titania with his singing, and she falls madly in love with him.
