Synopsis

Based on the book by Amor Towles. Set in 1922 Moscow, the story follows Count Alexander Rostov as he is placed under house arrest in the legendary Hotel Metropol on Theatre Square.

Description of Anna Urbanova (The Count's lover):

Anna Urbanov is glamorous, independent and self-made film actress and a lover of the Count, who uses her wit and beauty to dazzle Rostov. When the two meet in 1923, Anna is at the height of fame, having starred in several popular films. She initially makes a poor impression on the Count, but she invites him to dinner and quickly seduces him. Anna, described often as the "willowy woman". She's an enigmatic character who keeps her cards very close to her chest. Reluctant to reveal her true self, Anna plays a role off-screen as well on. Anna plays a motherly role to Sofia.
