Anna Urbanova is a glamourous, independent and self-made film actress and a lover of the Count, who uses her wit and beauty to dazzle Rostov. When the two meet in 1923, Anna is at the height of fame, having starred in several popular films. She initially makes a poor impression on the count, but she invites him to dinner and quickly seduces him. Anna, described often as the "willowy woman". She's an enigmatic character who keeps her cards very close to her chest. Reluctant to reveal her true self, Anna plays a role off-screen as well as on. Anna plays a motherly role to Sofia.
