Jessie Van Hauntley is a teenage vampire princess who lives with her widowed father and her younger sister Alicia in a vampire-ridden Transivania. She wants to live in a city; her father has remarried a human woman, but her overprotective father prevents her from doing so, as humans and vampires are enemies. She doesn't care, however, and befriends two human teenagers, Bloom and Adelina, who continue to protect her, but the local bully, Chuck, and the snobbish cheerleader, Abigail Banks, are unable to. Jessie and her friends don't realize she's a vampire disguised as a human to keep her vampire form hidden.
