His sister, Natasha has recently had a child with her Jewish husband, Keith. His sister, Audrey is dating a much older man in his mid 40's. His younger brother, Chris is coming home after a year in military school. Mark talks his father into reconnecting with his old friend, Dan Brander, who has a son named Tyler, who never stopped loving Sam and a daughter named Laura, who Mark falls head over heels for.
