Alexander Lloyd is a versatile and compelling actor of Greek/Cypriot and Egyptian descent who works across Television, Film & Theatre.
He has trained under acclaimed teachers including Les Chantery (Les Chantery Studios), Iain Sinclair (16th Street) Damian Walshe-Howling, Michael Sheasby, Peter Blackburn, Anthony Brandon Wong and Jasper Bagg.
Alexander’s television credits include the series regular role of Jason on Netflix Series ‘Gymnastics Academy; A Second Chance’, as well as NBC’s ‘La Brea’ (Dir. Greg McLean), Network Ten’s ‘Five Bedrooms’ (Dir. Fiona Banks) and ABC/Netflix’s ‘Why Are You Like This’ (Dir. Adam Murfet & Jessie Oldfield).
His film roles include films Awoken (Dir. Daniel Phillips), and A Second Chance: Rivals as Jason, a role which he reprised in ‘Gymnastics Academy’. Other on-screen credits include international film festival selections ‘City of Salt’ (Dir. James Di Martin), ‘Stop Gap’ (Dir. Monty Callen) and ‘BLVCK GOLD’ (Dir. Ez Eldin Deng).
Alexander’s theatre work includes leading roles of Doug in ‘Gruesome Playground Injuries’, Henry in ‘Where’s My Money’ as well as Toby Ackland in ‘Blackrock’.
Behind the camera, Alexander is a writer and producer. His first short film ‘Glasshouse’ which he co-wrote, co-produced and starred in was selected in Adelaide Film Festival 2020, and Alexander was nominated for best actor and best screenplay at the South Australian Screen Awards. Alexander is also a classically trained pianist and has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide.
